Albireo

manufacturer Holbein
colour white coloured
texture smooth rough
surface delicate tough
staining soaks into paper floats on surface

notes:
Wow.
This is THE cheapest of 30 papers I've tried, and it's really good.
Just in the middle of smooth and rough,
pencils no problem, pens no problem, and erasers no problem.

I want to give a special praise on how colour tops on this paper.
Pigments don't run off, nor soak and hide deep inside.
Painting on easels give natural "sun's from top and so colour is light" with pool at the bottom (but won't seep into where brush didn't go).
Fine but strong edge on borders.

Topping up do melt (and mars) what's beneath*, however.

* Undercoat that won't Melt discuss Holbein's semi-staining colours actually withstood overlays.
